Tinder killed the stigma of an online dating. Traditional sites like Match.com took too much effort to set up and their branding wasn't really cool. Assembling a full profile was too much to ask. If you could meet someone in real life, why would you go to all that trouble?.
Thibault Alsd decided to create a similar dating app for French market - Limeet. What makes it so effective is the simplistic, specific business model. Targeting itself towards the French market, registered users can see other users' profiles in their area, swiping an liking to their hearts content. Users can browse profiles of other registrants, chat with them and see a variety of different profile filters (e.g. genre, age, distance from their current location). Simplicity is the key in its effectiveness.
The main goal for Octodev team was creating an MVP for a dating app in which users can easily find other people in France.
Customer’s team built the Android app, the API and the database, basically the backend by themselves and we had to build an iOS version with some additional features that were suggested by our specialists.
Octodev team developed an iOS dating app with multiple features in it, like filtering people by geo-location, chatting with other users, accepting or declining friendship requests. It was delivered after 6 months of hard work and development process, including cooperation with external backend team.
